About Me

Why the name Fern & Nest? Fern because I have an obsession with plants and Nest is for the home and family. Also, the name is a fun play on my surname, Furness. I am a passionate working mom who loves her career and family and is a pretty outspoken feminist. I like to garden and get crafty but often the plants die and crafts are left half-finished when life gets too busy. Let's get real about having it all. You can't have it all but you can prioritize what is important. I strongly believe that being a parent and having hobbies make me better at my career in Leadership and Business. I also think that my career and relationships at work make me a better parent. You will see many examples in my blog of how the different aspects of my life and the knowledge I have gained have helped me gain perspective in other areas.
